Spider-Man Comic Appearances for August 3, 2011

This was a modest-sized week for Spider-Man comic appearances with 10 regular issues, second printings, variants and magazines.

The biggest news from the week seems to be in regards to Ultimate Fallout #4 and its introduction of the new Spider-Man.  While this is seemingly big news to most of the world -- or at least all of the 24-hour news services who crave anything to talk about -- I don't know how big it really is.

From a completist standpoint, do you continue to collect Ultimate Spider-Man when this new character takes over.  Is it the costume we collect, or the person inside.  There is a precedence here as Spider-Man 2099 is considered to be part of the Spider-Man completist lore and that was a different character all together too.

When it's all said and done, I will be collecting the new character, but I'm certainly not as excited about the change as the news pundits around the country.
